Conservation Area Consent
In the event that you live in a Conservation
Area then Conservation Area Consent will be needed before any development
(including change of use) can be undertaken. It is a similar process to that used
for normal planning permission and can be dealt with as part of the normal planning
application process. If the proposal involves demolition however, it will be necessary
to add one or two other components.
Generally in addition to the drawings required
for the grant of planning permission, the Local Authority will also require :
A Design Philosophy Statement
A description of the works and the effect they may have on the character of the
Conservation Area.
